Mumbai: The Western Railway Authority has issued an announcement regarding some disruptions to several train services as a result of significant technical upgrades scheduled for Dahanu Road station on Wednesday.
As stated by Sumeet Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of the Western Railway, a substantial 3-hour maintenance block is set to be in effect at Dahanu Road station starting from 8:50 AM today and concluding at 11:50 AM. This block aims to facilitate crucial technical enhancements.
This maintenance work is expected to impact a number of long-distance trains as well as suburban trains operating in Mumbai. Thakur elaborated that during the course of this 3-hour period, train schedules will be managed, and certain trains might be rerouted or temporarily terminated at Dahanu Road station.
Preceding this, the Western Railway recently took the initiative to augment local train services on August 15. A total of 49 local train services, previously composed of 12 cars, have been transformed into 15-car services. The Western Railway made this announcement via the social media platform 'X,' formerly known as Twitter. The message emphasized the railway's commitment to enhancing services in the Mumbai Suburban section while ensuring that the overall service count remains consistent at 1394, which includes 79 AC local services.
Earlier, the Western Railway had to cancel a number of AC local train services due to technical complications with one of the AC train units. This issue was promptly addressed, with rectification work carried out at the designated car shed. The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Western Railway stated, "It should be noted that the AC services that were cancelled were due to technical concerns associated with one of the AC locals, which is currently undergoing rectification at the car shed."
Furthermore, there was a separate occurrence involving an AC local train operating with open doors during the morning period. This incident was temporary in nature and has since been resolved, with the train unit restored to its normal operational status.
