The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the UPSC Civil Service Preliminary Exam 2017 on June 18, 2017. In an official notification released today, February 22, 2017, the UPSC declared the dates for the UPSC IAS 2017 exam cycle. 

The UPSC Civil Services Mains 2017 will be held from October 28, 2017. Candidates can apply for the Civil Service Exam (CSE)- Prelims 2017 from February 22, 2017 to March 17, 2017. In 2017, there are a total of  980 vacancies to be filled through the CSE.

UPSC conducts the prestigious civil service exam every year in the month of August. In 2017, this date has been pre-poned to June 18. UPSC CSE is three stage exam process which includes- the objective Prelims, subjective Mains and a personal interview. CSE is the gateway to All India Services (AIS) like Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Forest Service (IFS) and  22 other Central Services.

Eligibility of UPSC Civil Services exam 2017:

Age: The candidates need to have an undergraduate degree from recognised University. The age limit is:

For general category: 32 years

OBC candidates: 35 years

SC/ST candidates: 37 years.
