Washington DC [US], May 26 (NT): The much-anticipated United States-North Korean summit may be extended ahead of June 12 and is not likely to be called off in spite of the recent letter by US President Donald Trump hinting at cancelled the summit.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Trump asserted on Friday (local time) to confirm the occurrence of the summit.

"We are having very productive talks with North Korea about reinstating the Summit which, if it does happen, will likely remain in Singapore on the same date, June 12th., and, if necessary, will be extended beyond that date" President Trump tweeted.

Worth mention here On Thursday, the US President, as per a release by the White House statement, cancelled the much-anticipated United States-North Korea summit.

The US President alleged the 'hostility' and anger displayed by North Korea on the subject of the US-South Korea Max military drills for revoking the summit.

"Sadly, based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, l feel it is inappropriate at this time to have this long-planned meeting," Trump asserted in a release as quoted by ANI.

The fate of summit had been in a stagger since North Korea threatened to call off the meeting due to the US-South Korean 'Max' military drills.
