NEW DELHI: Tennis world number one and defending champion Novak Djokovic and Naomi Osaka have been seeded first at the US Open. The U.S. Open began on Wednesday. Djokovic will focus on his 17th Grand Slam singles title. Spain's Rafael Nadal has been seeded second. Former number one Roger Federer, who is eyeing a 21st Grand Slam, is eyeing a third-place. The draw of the women's and men's singles category was held on Thursday.

In the Women's section, Osaka was seeded in the top and Serena Williams was seeded eighth. Osaka beat Serena to win the title last year.
