New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi met a delegation of US lawmakers on Saturday, during which PM Modi commended the continued support and constructive role of the US Congress in strengthening the India-US comprehensive global strategic partnership based on shared democratic values. PM Modi held a meeting with a US Congress delegation led by Senator John Cornyn.
According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), US lawmakers praised India for better covid management, even after the challenges of the large population. In a statement, PMO said, 'The US Congress delegation was led by Senator John Cornyn and included Senators Michael Crapo, Thomas Tuberville and Michael Lee and Members of Congress Tony Gonzalez and John Kevin Ellis.' Cornyn is also the co-founder and co-chair of the Senate Caucus on India and Indian Americans.
"The Congress delegation praised India's better management during the Corona crisis even after the challenges of the large population," PMO said. PM Modi said people's participation has played an important role in managing the deadliest epidemic of the last century. PMO said the meeting discussed regional issues of mutual interest, including issues related to South Asia and the Indo-Pacific region.
