Washington: US President Joe Biden has extended his sympathies to the families of the ten persons killed in a shooting at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, and has urged for "every effort to eradicate domestic terrorism."

Biden said in a White House statement: "We are heartbroken for the families of the 10 victims whose lives were senselessly taken, as well as for everyone who is dealing with the physical and emotional consequences of this awful attack. We are appreciative for the courage of law enforcement officers and other first responders who acted quickly to protect and preserve lives. The First Lady and I are praying for the victims and their families, and the people of Buffalo are in our thoughts and prayers."

"Any act of domestic terrorism, particularly one committed in the service of a vile white nationalist ideology, is diametrically opposed to everything America stands for. Hatred must be denied a safe haven. We must do everything possible to put an end to domestic terrorism motivated by hatred "He said, "
