NEW DELHI: The foreign Chanel again draws attention on the legendary 'Ram Setu' between India and Sri Lanka, after a show on the Science Channel in the US implied that such a construction may actually be real outside of myths.
A promo aired by the channel informs that the bridge – also tagged Adam's Bridge - may not be a natural creation and may have been constructed by humans.
"Are the ancient Hindu myths of a land bridge connecting India and Sri Lanka true? Scientific analysis suggests they are," says text accompanying the promo.
Referring to images from a Nasa satellite, the show of US channelclaims that explorers have recovered a line of rocks 30 miles long between Sri Lanka and India.
The stones in the citing images are sitting on a 'sandbar', which suggest itself in areas with shallow water. As per the reports of archaeologist Chelsea Rose elaborated, sand could build up between the land masses.
A study of the rocks revealed the facts that on the seabed shows they predate the sand, Rose further said.
Distinctively, the 7,000-year-old rocks are sitting on sand which are 4,000-years-old.
In the piece of information, geologist Dr Alan Lester considers it as the stones were carried from far and wide to set atop the sandbar island chain.
