The fast of Utpana Ekadashi is observed on the Ekadashi of the Krishna Paksha of Margashirsha month, which is on November 22 this time. Ekadashi day is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. According to mythological beliefs, salvation is attained by the effect of this fast. Very few people know that Ekadashi was a goddess who was born to Lord Vishnu. Utpana Ekadashi fast story

In mythological beliefs, it is believed that Shri Krishna himself told the story of the birth of Ekadashi Mata to Yudhishthira. This story was something like this - there was a demon named the Mur at the time of Satyuga. By his power, he had conquered the heavens. In such a situation Indradev sought help from Vishnu. The war of Vishnu started with the Mur demon, which lasted for many years. Finally, when Vishnuji started sleeping, he went to rest in a cave called Hemavati in Badrikashram. The Mur also came after them and rose to kill the sleeping god, when a girl came out from inside and fought with the Mur. After the fierce battle, the girl's head is separated from the torso. When Vishnu fell asleep, he wondered how it happened? Virgo explained everything in detail. Knowing the account, Vishnu asked the girl to ask for a boon.

The girl demanded that if a man fasts for me, then all his sins are destroyed and he gets Vishnulok. Then God gave that girl the name Ekadashi and gave a boon that by observing this fast, the sins of mankind will be destroyed and they will get Vishnu Lok.
