Uttar Pradesh: High tension line dropped on a government school, 52 children injured

Balrampur: A horrific incident took place in Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh where a high tension wire broke down on a government school building. 52 children have been injured in the incident. The children have been hospitalized, four of whom are said to be in critical condition. When the case came to the notice of CM Yogi, officers from the district to Mandal came into action, after which the officers rushed to the hospital and the spot to pick up the injured students.

According to information, the incident took place at a primary school in Vishunpur village under uttullah Kotwali area. Manoj Yadav, the jurisdictional officer (CO) of Uttola, said that about 52 children have been injured when high tension wires fell on the roof of a government school. A school teacher has said that Gyaneshwari Gupta, the headmaster of the school, had submitted a written application to the officials of the Department of Power several times over the removal of the high tension line passing over the school, but even after that, the officials of the Department of Power did not take any action.

A school teacher said that on Monday (July 15), 60 students came to school. The school premises were flooded with rainwater. Just behind the school there are mango, rosemary and eucalyptus trees. The high tension line supplying electricity to Nayanagar passes by touching these trees. A wire of the same line broke down on the roof of the school, spreading to the entire house of the Highvoltage Current School and scorching the children.
