Baghpat: A case of youth being beaten to death by a cricket bat in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh has come to light. His body has been found lying on the national highway. The police, who arrived at the scene, recovered the blood-soaked bat. Family members have accused the youth of the village of murder. The police has started investigating the case along with sending the dead body for postmortem.

A resident of Sarurpur village of Kotwali, Baghpat city, used to work on a brick kiln. On Monday evening he had gone to get wages from the kiln since then he did not return home. The family searched him a lot but did not find him anywhere. On Tuesday morning, his body was found lying on the side of the highway on the canal near the village. Police found a cricket bat near the body, which was stained with blood.

The family alleges that the murderer killed him by beating with the cricket bet, after which the murderer escaped leaving the body here. Police reached the spot and started investigating the case. After the allegations of the family of the deceased, Luv Kush of the village has been taken in custody for questioning. Police Station Chief Kotwali told that the dead body of the young man has been rushed to the hospital for post-mortem. The reasons for the murder are not yet clear.
