Rampur: A case of rape case has come to light from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. The victim alleged that her husband locked her in the room with his brother and his brother raped her after she divorced her husband. Police have registered a case against 7 persons on the basis of this complaint. All the accused including the woman's husband and brother-in-law are said to be absconding at present. Police are on the lookout for them. According to media reports, the entire case pertains to a village under the Swar police station area of Rampur on July 16.
Seven persons including the husband were charged in the case on Thursday. The victim had complained that she was married 1 year ago. Things went well for a few months of marriage, but later the in-laws started demanding her family to bring the car and Rs 10 lakh and she was imparted triple talaq on July 16. The victim alleged that when she asked her to lodge a triple talaq complaint with the police station, the in-laws consulted each other and asked her to get rid of the younger brother-in-law so that the condition of halala could be fulfilled. The victim denied it. But he was told that after halala, she would be re-married to his husband.
After this, even after his refusal, on July 16, the father-in-law sent him and his brother-in-law to a room and closed the gate from outside. Inside, the brother-in-law forcefully raped her and in the morning, the woman somehow managed to escape from the clutches of her in-laws' house. She narrated the ordeal in his house. After this, the maiden took her to the police station and lodged a report of the incident. In her complaint, the victim told that her husband used to forcefully have unnatural sex with her. This was done to torture her. Police have registered a case in this regard under section 377 of IPC.
