Bareilly: Despite the strictures by the police and the administration, the crimes against women in the country are not taking the name to stop. Everyday, there are reports of crimes happening with women from different corners of the country. One such case has come up from Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh. In Bareilly, a woman has registered a case of gang rape against 39 people.

4 of them have been named and 35 other unnamed accused have been reported. After a complaint by this 32-year-old woman, the entire village has stood up against the registration of the case. According to media reports, the villagers also protested outside the Superintendent of Police office against the woman on Saturday. After this, the protesters also met the Circle Officer. Whence everyone returned home after being assured of a fair investigation into the matter.

The villagers have alleged that the gang rape case filed by the woman is false. The 39 people against whom a case has been filed have to take Rs. 2.50 lakhs of borrowings from the woman's husband. The woman, who had earlier complained of rape, has sent a letter to Bareilly's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shailesh Pandey, saying that villagers are pressurizing her to leave the village as she has lodged a rape complaint against the accused. Police is currently investigating the entire case.
