Lucknow: A shocking case has come to light in Barabanki adjoining Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow. The father-in-law who sold his daughter-in-law for 80,000 rupees. When the son came to know this, he have registered an FIR in the case and initiated action.

The entire case is of Mallapur village under Ramnagar tehsil of Barabanki. Prince, the son of Chandraram Verma, a resident here, was married to an Assamese girl in 2019. Prince had a love marriage, he met this girl for the first time through an online app. The two were leading a happy life after marriage. It is reported that Prince had gone to live in Ghaziabad with his wife, where he used to drive a taxi. Meanwhile, chandraram, a blind father-in-law lured by money, conspired to sell his daughter-in-law for 80,000. He called prince's wife home on June 4 and under the planning Ramu Gautam called Gujarat youth Sahil and his family to Barabanki after which the entire deal was settled.

Meanwhile, when Prince came to know about it from his brother-in-law, he returned home on June 5. There was neither a wife at home nor his father, after which he lodged a written complaint against her father at the police station. On the directions of Additional SP Awadhesh Singh, the woman police station in-charge Shakuntala Upadhyay, who came into action, along with the police team found the woman from outside the railway station and arrested eight persons including the youth who had come to get married. However, a search is on for absconding Chandraram and Ramu Gautam in the case. They will be arrested soon.
