In fact, a 13-year-old girl who had gone to see a farm in a village in the royal area was raped and then murdered. The family members conducted a day-long search and found the body of the girl in a sugarcane field. Angry family members are said to have blocked the Chakdah-Shahi road demanding immediate arrest of the accused.

Police have managed to open the jam after about an hour in the case and the body was then sent for postmortem. The 13-year-old girl, who lives in a village in Shahi, was reportedly a class VI student. She had cycled to see the sugarcane field at around 8 am last Saturday, but she did not return two hours later. Seeing this, the family started looking for him but he was nowhere to be found. In the afternoon, when some people told him to see him returning from the field, the family started looking for her in the forest and sugarcane fields.

Her semi-naked body was found in a sugarcane field near Chakdah-Pipalsana Chakori, two kilometres from the village, around 5 pm, which left the family members in a state of shock. Police and forensic teams then rushed to the spot. It was clear from the scene that she was murdered after the rape. Police said, the girl was found with a sharp weapon wound in her head at the back. In addition, the neck was also swollen due to serious injuries. Not only that, the girl's bicycle and clothes were recovered lying some distance away from the body. In this case, the police say that an acquaintance has committed the crime. Now the police are investigating.
