Lucknow: Mohsin Raza, Minister of State for Minority Welfare in the Yogi Government of Uttar Pradesh, has welcomed the decision to rename the Mughal Museum in Agra to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum. The cabinet minister said on Friday that the museum should be named after the great men who fought in difficult circumstances to get freedom for the country.

He said doing so will send good messages to the younger generation. Mohsin Raza added, "When it comes to the Mughals and the British, we feel enslaved. Mughals and Englishmen can never be our ideals. The ideals for us and our future generation are the great men who brought freedom to the country, saved the culture of the country. And they have done the work of exalting us and the name of our country".

CM Yogi Adityanath had announced this week that the name of the Mughal Museum under construction in Agra will be changed and it will be named after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.  In the meantime, he had said that the Yogi Government of UP is going to nurture nationalist ideas. Barring symbols of the mindset of slavery, there is a need to encourage subjects that make the country proud. Our heroes cannot be Mughal. Shivaji Maharaj is our ideal".
