Lucknow: A Hindu girl was allegedly raped by a Muslim youth, Farman Ali, in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly. The victim studies in Class VIII. According to the report, Farman Ali had gone to the victim's house a few days ago with his father Abbas Ali to work as a tile installer. During this time, Farman started keeping a dirty eye on the victim. Also, while commuting to school, Farman used to follow the girl. Seeing the opportunity, the accused Farman Ali abducted the victim from the school and took her to an unknown place on Tuesday (November 22). He then drugged the victim and raped her.

According to the report, Farman Ali fled the spot, threatening to kill the victim if she told anyone about the incident. It was only when the victim's health deteriorated the next day of the incident that her father came to know about the entire story of the accused's misdeeds. The victim's father was on his way to the police station to get the report written when Farman and his father Abbas Ali stopped him near Shaheed Gate and hurled casteist abuses at him. Both of them also threatened to kill them along with the family if they registered the report. Later, with the help of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders, the victim's father filed a report on the decree under the rape and Pocso Act and her father Abbas Ali under other sections including SC-ST Act.

According to the report, Izzatnagar Inspector Arun Kumar Srivastava has informed that raids are being conducted to arrest the accused. Both will be arrested soon. VHP city president Durgesh Kumar Gupta has said that the accused have committed the crime in a planned manner. After this, the victim's family took shelter near the Hindu Jagran Manch and they were assured of action. On Thursday, he along with other officials reached the police station with the victim and her father and lodged a complaint.

Meanwhile, around 8 pm, there was sudden anger among the villagers and Hindu organizations. Everyone blocked the Nainital highway. There was a traffic jam for about 1 hour. Izzatnagar Inspector Arun Kumar Srivastava explained to the people. He assured to arrest the accused within 24 hours, after which people opened the jam.
