Firozabad: A major fire broke out in the godown of Signal Department, a senior section engineer of Tundla railway station in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday morning due to unknown reasons. When the flames were seen rising in the morning, the fire brigade was informed about the incident. The fire brigade which reached the spot somehow managed to control the fire. The fire is feared to have burnt goods worth lakhs of rupees.

The incident took place around 5.30 am on Thursday. When people who were out for a walk around Tundla railway station saw flames rising from this godown of the engineering department, they immediately informed the fire brigade informing the higher authorities. A fire brigade team reached the spot and brought the fire under control after about 1 hour of hard work. The godown was reportedly carrying various parts of the signal department, cables, and other equipment, which were burnt to ashes.

However, the extent of damage caused by the fire has not yet been ascertained by any official. Fire brigade FSO Randhir Kumar said that he had come to the spot on the information of the fire and the fire has been brought under control.
