UP lockdown extended for 3 days, find out what will be revised restrictions

Lucknow: The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has taken a major decision in view of the increasing number of cases of corona infection. The government has announced an extension of the weekly lockdown in the state and has now announced a three-day extension. According to reports, the lockdown may now take place from 8 pm on Friday to 7 am on Tuesday.

The government said all markets, private and public offices will remain closed from Friday night till 7 am on Tuesday till further orders. Markets, shopping malls and restaurants will also remain closed. The government has advised people to stay indoors and only those involved in essential services will be exempted from restrictions. Pharmacy shops, hospitals and other essential services will be available during lockdown. Religious places will also remain closed.

The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday asked the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government to look for options including lockdown in view of acute shortage of oxygen and medical facilities in the state during a court hearing on Tuesday. Hearing a trial on corona epidemic situation in the state, a bench headed by Justice Siddharth Verma said, "I again urge, if things are not under control, impose a two-week lockdown."
