Lucknow: The new and deadly variant Omicron of coronavirus has once again brought back the night curfew in Uttar Pradesh. The state government has imposed a night curfew from 25th December to 11 pm to 5 am. More than 200 guests have also been banned from attending wedding ceremonies.

In view of the increasing cases of Omicron, Section 144 was already imposed in Lucknow. At the same time, it has been made mandatory to wear masks in public places across the state. CM Yogi has alerted the officials to Omicron and asked them to increase the number of beds in government hospitals and take other necessary measures. It may be mentioned that the cases of Omicron in the country are increasing rapidly. More than 300 cases have been reported so far.

The number of corona infected cases in the States has also increased every day. Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi held a review meeting with the state governments on the latest situation in which he directed to strengthen his preparedness to tackle the corona epidemic. He also asked them to follow a five-fold strategy in view of the new Omicron variant. The government is also on alert over Christmas and new year celebrations. In view of all these aspects, a night curfew has been announced in UP from tomorrow.
