New Delhi: The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has taken a major decision in view of the growing bird flu infection across the country. The Yogi government has declared Uttar Pradesh as a controlled area. The import of live birds in the diocese has been banned. Uttar Pradesh has been declared as a controlled area in view of avian influenza infection in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and neighbouring Himachal Pradesh bordering Uttar Pradesh.

In view of the bird flu infection in the state, no live bird can be brought under the border. The ban will remain in force till January 24. In the meantime, if a businessman or a person who is fond of the enclaves brings any bird in UP, strict action will be taken.  The zoo in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has been closed till further orders. Bird flu viruses have been found in 4 dead birds at the zoo here. The administration has since issued orders to kill all the birds in the enclosure. The Kanpur administration has declared the entire area as a red zone. There is also a ban on people coming here.

Nawab Wajid Ali Shah zoological park of Lucknow is on alert following the growing outbreak of bird flu. The zoo continues to sanitize the enclosure of all birds. The dribble inside out is being sprinkled. The bird section of the zoo has been closed to tourists. Lucknow Zoo has also discontinued the bird exchange programme.
