Marijuana worth lakhs seized from UP, 4 smugglers arrested

Jalaun: The police has achieved big success in Jalaun in Uttar Pradesh. Police and SWAT team have taken joint action and arrested four ganja smugglers. Police have recovered 36 kg of hemp and cash from the smugglers' possession. The price of recovered hemp is reported in lakhs.

The SWAT team and Orai Kotwali police were informed by the informant last night that a consignment of illegal ganja from Odisha was being brought to Orai. On the input of the informant, the SWAT team and the police laid nets under the Rath Road over the bridge and arrested four ganja smugglers. Police have recovered 36 kg of hemp from the possession of these smugglers. According to the police, the price of this ganja in the market is in lakhs. Police have also recovered about 64,000 rupees cash, cars, and four mobile phones from the accused.

Briefing the media, Superintendent of Police in Orai Police Line, Dr. Yashvir Singh informed the media that smugglers supply ganja from Odisha to several districts of Bundelkhand. He said the main accused is still absconding. The police will arrest him too soon. Police are currently questioning the arrested accused.
