Lucknow: Two sisters and a brother were driven over by a truck coming from behind who were on their way to visit the ancient Shiva temple at Devkali in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh. Both the sisters died on the spot in the accident. Anurag Rastogi, a resident of Mishrana locality in the Sadar police station area, is said to have boarded an auto with his entire family and was going to visit the Devkali temple.

Anurag Rastogi's son Vivek Rastogi was riding a scooty with his sister Neetu Rastogi and Avantika Rastogi. Scooty was moving ahead of the auto when a speeding truck traveling from behind hit Scooty hard, killing the two sisters on the spot and seriously injuring the brother. The incident took place in front of the eyes of family members moving in the auto behind Scooty.

After receiving information about the incident, the police who reached the spot placed the bodies of the two deceased sisters in the hospital for postmortem while the injured brother was taken to the district hospital for treatment from where he was referred to Lucknow as his condition was critical.  Lakhimpur Kheri SP Vijay Dhull said that a brother was on his way to the temple with his two sisters on a scooty when the truck hit them, killing two sisters on the spot, the body was rushed for postmortem, the truck driver was being searched.
