Meerut: In Uttar Pradesh, a son brutally attacked and killed his father with a sharp weapon in the Daurala police station area under Meerut. Local police have informed in this regard on Monday. Police said, 68-year-old Vijaypal, a resident of Bharala village, had sold his share of cultivable land a few years ago and Vijaypal had a dispute with his wife and sons over the same.

Police said the family members were demanding money from Vijaypal. According to police information, the neighbours had informed the police about Vijaypal's murder this morning. He said the accused has been taken into custody. Police said Vijaypal's body has been recovered from the second-floor room of the house. Police have also recovered the shovel used in the murder from the room.

Police have seized the body of the deceased and sent it for postmortem and arrested the accused and put him behind bars.  Police are currently taking further action.
