Lucknow: Domestic power consumers in Uttar Pradesh are going to get a big relief from the Yogi government. The new electricity rates announced by the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission on July 23 have come into effect from today. The good news is that the electricity bill of domestic consumers using less than 100 units and more than 500 units of electricity will come down. 

New rates of electricity in rural areas

0 to 100 units of electricity Rs 3.35 per unit
Rs 3.85 per unit from 101 to 150 units 
From 151 to 300 units Rs 5 per unit  
above 300 units Rs 5.50 per unit

New rates of electricity in urban areas

Rs. 5.50 per unit from 0 to 151 units 
Rs. 6.00 per unit from 151 to 300 units 
Above 300 units Rs 6.50 per unit

According to the new rates, a maximum of Rs 6.50 per unit will have to be paid if you spend more than 300 units of electricity. The Yogi government has withdrawn the Rs 7 slab. At the same time, the maximum rate of domestic electricity will be Rs 6.50 per unit. Power tariffs in Greater Noida have been reduced by about 10 per cent. The maximum rate of domestic electricity will be Rs 6.50 per unit. According to the new rates, spending more than 300 units of electricity will be charged at a maximum rate of Rs 6.50. Electricity from 151 to 300 units will be available at the rate of Rs 6 per unit and from 101 to 150 units at the rate of Rs 5.50 per unit. 

Big benefits to BPL families:-

Domestic BPL electricity will be provided at the rate of Rs 3 per unit. BPL families will now have to pay a bill of only Rs 3 per unit for 100 units. Earlier it was Rs 3.35. Let us know that the UP Electricity Regulatory Commission has given a big relief to the 1.20 crore poor consumers of the state by cutting the rates of electricity bills.
