Lucknow: A case of love jihad has come to light from the Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh. The name of the accused youth is said to be Asif. Asif is accused of trapping a minor girl by giving her a false name as Akash, raping her and pressuring her to convert.
According to media reports, Asif, a resident of the Faridpur police station area, had been chasing the minor girl for about a year. He had given his name to the victim as Akash. One day Asif took her with him to Delhi after befriending the minor. There he raped the victim by intoxicating her in tea. Later, he also gave a chance of marriage. Meanwhile, one day when the minor reached Asif's house, he came to know that Akash (Asif) was a Muslim.
According to the minor victim, when she told the whole thing to Asif's family members, her family members scolded her and drove her away. The victim later lodged a complaint with the police. The complaint also accused him of putting pressure on her to change her religion. Police have booked the accused Asif under serious sections like rape, conversion of religion and POCSO at Police Station Faridpur and arrested him.
