Gopalganj: Disreputable criminal Munna Mishra, a resident of Panan in Kateya police station area of Gopalganj district of Bihar, has been arrested by the police from Deoria in UP. Bihar Police and Special Investigation Team (SIT) have jointly conducted raids and carried out the operation. SIT had been laying its trap for the past several days to arrest Munna Mishra.

Family sources confirmed that Munna Mishra has been arrested from Deoria. Earlier, rumors of Munna Mishra being killed in a police encounter in the area had also spread late in the night. However, police officer Anand Kumar is refraining from disclosing anything in this regard. He has also said that it was a rumor that Munna Mishra was killed in a police encounter. Police raided Deoria around 8 pm on Thursday and arrested Munna Mishra.

On the morning of May 24, a team of SIT and Bihar police had been searching for the notorious Munna Mishra and his disciples since teacher Dilip Singh alias Pandit was shot dead by criminals in Jamunha Bazar under Kateya police station area. Police have also arrested several criminals of the Munna Mishra gang in the murder.
