New Delhi: Police has arrested absconding crook, Vipul Dubey, from Sajeti area for six months in the famous Vikas Dubey case of Uttar Pradesh. He was absconding since the incident and on arrest, the IG had also kept a reward of 50 thousand. The teams of Crime Branch, STF have reached Ghatampur. It is questioning Vipul.
On the night of July 2, 2020, 8 policemen including CO Devendra Mishra were killed by gangster Vikas Dubey in Bikaru village. Later, police arrested eight accused, including Vikas Dubey, in the encounter. Vipul Dubey was on the run since the incident. Police teams were constantly pushing, but nothing was known. Late-night the Sajeti police arrested him on the information of the informer.
Police have recovered from his possession a pistol and two cartridges. Since the incident, the police arrested 42 people and filed a charge sheet. Vipul is accused of plotting the incident and being involved in the crime with Dubey. CO Ghatampur Ravi Kumar Singh said that one of the accused in the Bikeru incident is being interrogated.
