Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Congress unit president Ajay Kumar Lallu has been put under house arrest on Friday morning hours before the Congress programme to protest at all petrol pumps against the continued rise in petrol diesel prices. Police have been deployed outside the residence of UPCC president Ajay Kumar Lallu and they have been told that they will not be allowed to leave.

A district official informed that no demonstration can be allowed due to imposition of prohibitory orders in the state capital. Any meeting of a person would be a violation of this rule. Ajay Kumar Lallu told press personnel over phone that he did not even remember how many times the Yogi Adityanath government in the state used police force to prevent him from being detained and protested, which is his democratic and political right.

Uttar Pradesh Congress unit president Ajay Kumar Lallu further said that the government is acting like a terrorist and is dealing with opposition leaders like criminals. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra have also been constantly attacking the Modi government over rising petrol diesel prices.
