Lucknow: Police and STF have arrested a man who kidnapped a lawyer's wife and demanded a ransom of 1 crore in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow. The woman has been recovered efficiently. However, the search for others involved in kidnapping is continuing. Police are conducting raids for the same.

According to reports, the wife of an Allahabad High Court lawyer from Sushant Golf City area of Lucknow was kidnapped while walking evening on June 6. The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore. The team was investigating the entire case in a joint operation by STF and Lucknow police. Police recovered the kidnapped woman from a house at Harvansh Garhi in Mohanlalganj police station area and arrested the abductor Santosh Choubey. According to police, kidnapping accused Santosh Choubey had called the lawyer's wife's mobile phone and demanded a ransom of rs 1 crore.

Police said Santosh Choubey roamed around Lucknow with the kidnapped woman. During this time, the police continued to trace surveillance and mobile location. When the police raided a house in Mohanlalganj, they found that the woman had been kept there. Santosh Choubey, who was monitoring the woman, was arrested.
