Lucknow: The Congress, led by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, is now seen entering the fray with full force for next year's Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. The Congress has started its pledge journey on Saturday after announcing 40 per cent reservation in tickets for women. Congress National General Secretary and party's Uttar Pradesh in-charge Priyanka Gandhi flagged off three pledge visits from Barabanki on Saturday.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also made several big announcements during the event. She said that if the Congress government comes to UP, there will be free e-scooty and mobile phones for school girls, farm loan waiver, Rs 25,000 to poor families every year, half of the electricity bill for all and full waiver of pending electricity bills of the covid period. Priyanka Gandhi further said that we will also give 20 lakh government jobs. Farmers will get the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 2500 per quintal for rice and wheat and Rs 400 per quintal for sugarcane.

Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi was also seen talking to women in the fields. She also ate food from the hands of women. Priyanka Gandhi said, "I want to understand her working conditions as to how she is raising her daughters and whether she is able to educate them.''
