UP: Villagers beaten a one accused for stealing sacks of wheat, two accused absconding

Lucknow: In Ghurona village under Rae Bareli district of Uttar Pradesh, villagers held a youth hostage and thrashed him for stealing three sacks of wheat. The video of the young man being taken hostage spread like a fire on social media. In the case, Rae Bareli superintendent of police said that a case will be registered against the youth caught stealing and he will be produced before the court.

A case has also been registered against those who took the youth hostage and thrashed him. In fact, the incident took place in Ghurona village of Bachrawan police station area, thirty kilometres from the district headquarters in Rae Bareli. Villagers said three thieves had entered the village in the early hours of Sunday and three sacks of wheat were being stolen and fled. It was early in the morning when some villagers went out to defecate. When they caught sight of them, they started shouting. A large number of villagers were arrived when they heard the sound and tried to nab the thieves, but by then two thieves had taken advantage of the opportunity to flee and a thief was caught.

The villagers were so outraged by the theft that they tied the arrested thief to a tree and thrashed him. Not only that, the villagers made a video of the incident and made it viral and in the meantime the police came and rescued the thief. According to police, he has been identified as Rajendra Maurya, 28. Meanwhile, two of his accomplices Kuldeep and Chaman Deep have fled. On the other hand, the video of the incident went viral on Monday morning.
