Lucknow: An attempt has been made to rape a student in the bathroom during the BSc second year examination at a university campus in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj town. Police personnel have conducted a medical examination of the victim. At the same time, apart from the Kotwali police, the surveillance cell has also been engaged in the investigation of the allegation of attempted rape. The accused are currently absconding from the spot.

The student's brother has lodged a complaint accusing a youth of the village and his cousin. The police have registered a case of attempt to rape against two named accused besides an unidentified person on the basis of Tahrir and started the investigation. The police, who reached the college on Sunday, also questioned the deployed personnel after checking the CCTV, but no evidence related to the incident has been found so far.
