Uttar Pradesh relaxes COVID curbs in 55 districts. Know revised protocols

Uttar Pradesh government on Sunday eased lockdown restrictions in the state. The government allows certain activities from June 1, though night and weekend curfews will continue as same.

The state eased restrictions on weekdays across districts which reported less than 600 COVID-19 cases. While 20 districts, including Lucknow and Gautam Buddha Nagar, will remain under the existing curfew as resurgence of cases continue to report high number. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at a press conference in Lucknow made the official statement, ANI reported. Notably, shops and markets outside containment zones will be allowed to open from June 1 onwards from 7 am to 7 pm for five days of week. The weekend restrictions or "corona curfew" will remain in place on Saturday and Sunday, and night curfew will remain in place from 7 pm to 7 am.

Meanwhile, the state recorded 1690016 people affected by novel coronavirus covid-19. While 1628456 out of 1690016 have recovered. Sadly, 20346 patients have died due to coronavirus. Around 41214 patients are still in hospital and recovering.
