Lucknow: Swami Prasad Maurya has resigned from the BJP though he is yet to join the Samajwadi Party (SP). Replying to which party Maurya will suppress, he has said that there should be suspense over it. Talking to the media, Swami Prasad Maurya said that on January 14, he will make the last blast which will be like the last nail in the coffin of the BJP government.

Swami Prasad Maurya had resigned from the Yogi cabinet on Tuesday and quit the BJP. At the same time, four other MLAs of the party have also withdrawn from the BJP. Swami Prasad Maurya said that suspense should be maintained on where we are going. On January 14, the time will come when the last explosion will take place. Whatever decision is taken will be like the last nail in the coffin of the BJP government. Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav had posted with Swami Prasad Maurya on Twitter. On a question related to this, Maurya said, "If anyone has thanked me by tweeting, I thank him too.'' But I will meet the workers to decide where I want to go. The final decision will come by tomorrow evening, which I will hear on January 14. On the question of quitting the BJP, Maurya said there is no domestic dispute in the state nor does he get angry in 1 day. I have resisted the anti-people policies that have been there in the last 5 years in the Cabinet, as well as on the right platform. For 5 consecutive years, these people did not take any measures to prevent anti-people policies.

Maurya, however, did not say which anti-people policy of the Yogi government he had left the party opposing. Political experts say the BJP has already made it clear that the cards of several sitting MLAs will be cut so that new workers can be given a chance. So some people are going to other parties in the hope of a ticket. Maurya also served as a minister for 5 years and did not make any anti-government statements, but when he showed that the ticket was about to be cut, Swamy changed his mind and started encircling his government.
