Lucknow: The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has achieved great success on the employment front. In the state with the highest population, the unemployment rate has come down from 4.4 per cent to just 2.9 per cent. This has been revealed in the latest survey by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE). UP has overtaken states like Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Kerala and Tamil Nadu in this regard.  

UP is followed by Tamil Nadu, which has an unemployment rate of 3.2 per cent. Kerala's unemployment rate is 5.8 per cent, West Bengal's 6.2 per cent and Punjab's 7.2 per cent. The body that monitors unemployment and business activities has informed that the unemployment rate in Rajasthan is 28.8 per cent. Jharkhand has an unemployment rate of 14.2 per cent, while in the country's capital Delhi it is 11.2 per cent. According to the CMIE's monthly report, the unemployment rate in Uttar Pradesh has come down from 4.4 per cent in March to 2.9 per cent in April.  

An official spokesperson said that in the first term of the Yogi government, 5 lakh government jobs have been provided between 2017 and 2022. "The schemes run by CM Yogi keeping in mind the employment have played an important role in creating new businesses and jobs. UP has the lowest unemployment due to the growth in industry and trade.''
