Dehradun: Corona cases in Uttarakhand are continuously declining. The state registered 589 new corona cases in the last 24 hours, while 31 patients lost their lives. Also, 3,354 patients were recovered and discharged in 24 hours. There are now 22,530 active cases of corona in the region. Coming to the districts, 46 cases have been registered in Almora, 17 in Bageshwar, 50 in Chamoli, 2 in Champawat, 136 in Dehradun, 104 in Haridwar, 75 in Nainital.

While 12 patients were found in Pauri, 22 in Pithoragarh, 13 in Rudraprayag, 21 in Tehri, 70 in UdhamSingh Nagar and 21 in Uttarkashi. However the case of Black Fungus is growing rapidly in the state. So far 255 new cases have been found while 35 patients have lost their lives. The Uttarakhand government is considering to phase out the Chardham Yatra after the covid-19 havoc subsides and the corona curfew is over.

After meeting CM Tirath Singh Rawat to discuss the problems being faced by the tourism industry due to the second wave of corona virus epidemic, Tourism and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj said that though a final decision has not yet been taken, the epidemic outbreak will subside in the coming week So, a plan can be made to open chardham yatra in a phased manner.
