Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat visited the state to take stock of the situation created after the cloudburst in Devprayag district located in Tehri Garhwal region and he inspected the situation with the officials of disaster management and district administration there.

The cloudburst on Tuesday razed two municipal buildings to the ground and damaged several shops. It also damaged pedestrian bridges, water pipelines, and electricity supply lines.

There was no loss of life due to heavy rains due to cloudburst, but there was talk of considerable loss of goods as some buildings and shops collapsed. The crisis in Devprayag deepened due to almost flood-like situation as the entire state including the district is already grappling with the coronavirus crisis.

CM Rawat visited to get ground information about this situation. Earlier, it was told that Home Minister Amit Shah had taken the details of the situation of Devprayag from Rawat on the phone.
