DRDO constructed 500 bedded covid hospital in 21 days, CM Rawat inaugurated today

Dehradun: Uttarakhand CM Tirath Singh Rawat on Wednesday gave a big boost to the state. He inaugurated the 500-bed Covid-19 Care Centre developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) at Haldwani through video conferencing. The Covid-19 Care Centre has been named after the late former Army Chief General Bipin Chandra Joshi.

According to DRDO, the Covid Centre will be fully operational from tomorrow. The 500-bed Covid-19 care centre at Haldwani has been constructed in just 21 days. The centre has 375 oxygen beds and 125 ICU beds with ventilators. Earlier on May 26, Uttarakhand CM Tirath Singh Rawat had inaugurated the 500 bedded 'Jaswant Singh Rawat Covid Care Centre' built by DRDO in Rishikesh.

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand registered 981 new corona cases on Tuesday, taking the total to 3,30,475. Now, the number of active cases in the State has reached 27216. With the death of 36 patients in the last 24 hours, the total death toll in the state has now gone up to 6497.  New cases of corona virus are also showing a decline in the country. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday, India reported 1,32,788 new corona virus infections in the last 24 hours. Thus, the number of corona virus infected people in the country has reached 2,83,07,832.
