Dehradun: The controversy in the Congress for the Uttarakhand elections has been resolved after the party high command intervened for the past ten days. Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi finally had to come forward to end the factionalism over ticket distribution and it is being reported that the party may release the first list of candidates for the Uttarakhand elections today.

 

The party is said to be releasing the first list of 55 candidates today. On the other hand, Mayukh Mahr has filed his nomination in a major blow to Congress. While the party has not announced any ticket yet. Congress is said to be releasing the first list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in the state today. 55 candidates can be declared on this list. The Central Election Committee (CEC) met in New Delhi late on Friday night and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi was also present at the meeting after which the names were sealed.

 

It is also heard that earlier CEC wanted to issue tickets late at night. But the decision was later put off. The candidates were reportedly agreed to in the CEC meeting after former minister Harak Singh Rawat was inducted into Congress. Because there was confusion about the Lansdowne and Kotdwar seats.
