Dehradun: Now the factionalism of Uttarakhand Congress in Delhi has emerged before the Congress high command. The party is yet to announce the names of candidates for the elections and the biggest reason behind this is the political tussle between former Chief Minister Harish Rawat and the leader of the opposition. Due to which the party has not been able to finalise the names in 13 seats. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is said to be upset over factionalism. The Congress has earmarked 57 seats for the upcoming elections in the state, while Rawat and Pritam Singh are at loggerheads in 13 seats.

In fact, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat and leader of opposition Pritam Singh are facing each other in several important seats and due to this, the names of candidates could not be decided in the meeting in Delhi for the last three days. However, it was earlier reported that the party may announce the names of the candidates by Saturday night. But today, Congress leaders are scheduled to meet once again to discuss the selection of candidates. According to media reports, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat camp had put forward new names in some seats to which leader of opposition Pritam Singh objected and directly opposed the names.

Now it is discussed that the party has made approval on 57 seats in the state. But in 13 seats, a dispute is coming to the fore and both the factions are making their own claims in this. Whereas on the third day in Delhi the meeting which started on Saturday afternoon went on till one o'clock in the night. But no approval could be made on the seats. It is being said that in this 9 seats are from Garhwal region and 4 seats are from Kumaon region.
