Dehradun: Political heat is on the rise in Uttarakhand over the assembly elections to be held after four months. From BJP to Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are eyeing young voters this time. The BJP is engaged in an exercise to connect the youth by making 46-year-old Pushkar Dhami the Chief Minister and Kejriwal's AAP is making employment an election issue on the lines of Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar. AAP has launched an employment guarantee campaign to cater to the youth, which is being tried from door to door.

State that the total number of voters in Uttarakhand is 78 lakh as per the existing electoral rolls. Out of these, 17.79 lakh voters in the age group of 18 to 29 years, constitute 22 per cent of the total number of voters. So the number of voters between the ages of 30 and 39 is 21.81 lakh, which is 28 per cent of the total voter. In such a situation, voters between the ages of 18 and 39 are 50 per cent of the total voters, so all political parties have their eyes fixed on youth voters.

AAP President Arvind Kejriwal has promised government jobs to one lakh people in Uttarakhand for 6 months and an unemployment allowance of Rs 5000 will be provided till they do not get the job. Regarding this employment issue of Kejriwal, AAP's CM face retired Colonel Ajay Kothiyal is taking out employment guarantee tour in all the assemblies of Uttarakhand, while on the other hand party workers are going door-to-door giving information about employment guarantee.
