The Nainital High Court of Uttarakhand has directed the government to provide information about the action taken against the teachers who are getting appointments in primary and higher secondary schools on the basis of fake documents by June 24. The government was told that the investigation of this case is going on. The case was heard through video conferencing before the bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice RC Khulbe.

The Student Welfare Society Haldwani had filed a PIL in the High Court, stating that about three and a half thousand teachers were appointed in the primary and higher secondary schools of the state on the basis of fake documents. No action was taken against the names which came out in them due to the connivance of the departmental officers, with which even they have been given a clean chit. The petition said that such people still remain in office. The petitioner demanded an SIT inquiry into the matter.

During the hearing, the state government stated its stand and said that SIT investigation is going on in this case. So far 84 teachers have been found to be doing jobs on the basis of forged documents. Departmental action is going on against it. After hearing the sides, the High Court bench has directed the government to give information about the action taken against such teachers by 24 June.
