Dehradun: For the first time, Muslim women in madarsas in Uttarakhand are going to get a big chance. Women teachers will be extensively appointed in about 300 madarsas of the state. Earlier, madarsas in the state had never opened doors for Muslim women at this stage. The total number of madarsas currently recognized in the state is 297, with about seventy thousand students studying.

In most madarsas, male teachers teach children, but now women are going to get a big opportunity. The Uttarakhand Madarsa Board has taken a major decision to appoint women teachers in madarsas in the state. It will specifically be appointed in madarsas where girls study. Madarsa Board Chairman Bilal Ur Rahman said that 40 per cent of the women teachers were proposed by the Board, which has been passed with the consent of all.

According to the board chairman, the move will also be effective in making Muslim women self-sufficient. While new employment opportunities will be created for women, students studying in these madarsas will also get to see and learn something new in front of them. According to the board chairman, the process of recruitment of female teachers will be started soon.
