Guidelines have been set for compulsory retirement of government officials and employees attaining the age of 50 years working in the services of the state government. Along with this, by January 15, the appointing officer will issue a mandatory retirement order. At the same time, by November, screening committee meetings and other procedures will be completed. Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh has issued orders on behalf of the Department of Personnel.

For your information, according to the order issued to all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries-in-Charge Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Office, the government has constituted screening committees according to the level of government servants. At the same time, according to the order, there is a system of compulsory retirement in public interest by giving three months notice or three months salary to the government servant aged 50 years and above without assigning any reason.

On the recommendation of the screening committee, the appointing authority will issue the order only after obtaining the approval of the departmental minister / chief minister. All service documents of government servant's service period will be viewed. Particular attention will be paid to the records of the last 10 years. Personnel will be reviewed on the basis of efficiency and integrity. There will be no legal status of the Screening Committee. Proposals for compulsory retirement through secretaries of all administrative departments will be made available to the personnel department by 31 March. No laxity will be taken in this case.
