Dehradun: Sergeant of Gorkha Rifles and Pradeep Thapa, resident of Anarwala of Dehradun was martyred in Nagaland. He was martyred in the line of duty on Friday morning. He was cremated on Sunday with full military honours. Due to this, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Anarwala Guchupani, Dehradun and paid floral tributes to the dead body of martyr Havildar Pradeep Thapa and attended his last journey. He prayed to God to grant peace to the departed soul of the immortal martyr.

As a result, he met the family members and shared his condolences. He said that May God give the bereaved family the strength to bear this suffering. We all salute the sacrifice of martyr Havildar Pradeep Thapa. The Uttarakhand government will always stand with the family of the martyr. Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi and others were also present.

Pradeep Thapa's family received the news of his martyrdom late on Friday evening. After which there was a commotion at home. The family members cried foul. Former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat and Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi also tweeted their grief over the martyrdom of the soldier. He prayed to God to keep the bereaved family patient in this time of grief. Pradeep Thapa, a 39-year-old havildar posted in Gorkha rifle, joined the Army 19 years ago. He is survived by his wife Sujata Thapa with two daughters and a son.
