The video of the BJP leader and councilor playing gambling in his own office went viral. After this, to know the depth of the case, the BJP Metropolitan President has issued a show-cause notice regarding the case. If we do not get the answer, we have warned of action. Even before this, BJP leaders were caught nearly two years ago with ISBT on charges of gambling. He was suspended from the party, along with the video of former BJP Scheduled Front metropolitan president and councilor husband Rakesh Kumar playing gambling in his office went viral. In the video, he has seen playing cards with some people in the office at Sahasradhara Road. Soon after the matter came to cognizance, BJP Metropolitan President Sitaram Bhatt has issued a show-cause notice to Rakesh Kumar.

He said that disciplinary action would be taken if the response is not received within a week. Rakesh Kumar has been in controversies before. He has been warned before at the party level, besides this time the party had to take action against him. Last year, this BJP leader was shot by a familiar youth in a mutual dispute. Even then the case was reported to be about money transactions. After this, Rakesh Kumar says that he is a contender for the post in the Scheduled Front, due to which he is being maligned. The cyber cell will investigate the allegations of gambling in the office of the BJP leader. This order has been issued by DIG Arun Mohan Joshi. The wife of the BJP leader has been described as a corporator.

Former Congress MLA Rajkumar, Metropolitan President Lalchand Sharma, State Secretary Som Prakash Valmiki, Ajay Benwal etc. had made a written complaint on Tuesday with DIG Arun Mohan Joshi. It has alleged that the video which went viral on social media is of the office of the BJP leader located in Sahastradhara Road and in which the BJP leaders are seen gambling with some people. He alleged that due to being connected with power, action is not being taken against the BJP leader. There are boards outside the office named after two BJP representatives. The DIG has ordered CO Cyber Narendra Pant to investigate the matter with a cyber cell.
