Dehradun: Google will now assist Uttarakhand police to trace the cyber accused. For this, Google has created a website called LERS through which the police have been able to get all kinds of information easily. STF SSP Ajay Singh held a meeting with Google officials on Friday in this regard. He has been made the nodal officer of the State.

In fact, till now, search engines were contacted by Google for fake portals, fake customer care numbers, and other news, but due to lack of accountability in India, the police did not get the desired information. The STF had also issued a notice to Google in the past. SSP Ajay Singh said that there will be no more such difficulties.

He said that Google has created a website called Law Enforcement Request Cyst (LERS). All this information will be easily accessed by them through this website. Google officials will be given the numbers and email addresses of all cyber cells and CO's in the state so that any information is easily accessed. He said most people are duped into looking for numbers on Google. Now, action on these will also be simplified. The SSP said users are most dependent on Google search engines.
