Dehradun: Kanwar Yatra has been banned this time too due to the corona epidemic. The Uttarakhand government had banned the entry of kanwaris, but despite this, some kanwariyas dodged and reached Har Ki Pauri who has been arrested by the police. About 14 kanwaris raised slogans of 'Buum-Buum Bhole' when they reached Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar, after which the police arrested everyone. In addition to these 14 people, police have also caught two shopkeepers who were selling goods related to the Kanwar yatra.

All have been prosecuted under disaster management rules, as well as quarantined arrested crows. In view of the third wave of the corona, the Uttarakhand government had officially banned the Kanwar yatra, which prohibits taking the Kanwar during this period, doing anything related to it. According to reports, all the arrested kanwadis were residents of Sonepat in Haryana. Local CO City Abhay Singh said that even after the ban, there was an attempt by some people to break the rules on Har Ki Pauri today.

Abhay Singh further said that action will also be taken against those who sell Kanwar material this time. There is constant awareness about it. In view of the Corona crisis, all other governments, including Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, except Uttarakhand, banned the Kanwar Yatra. However, people will be able to perform puja in temples on the occasion of Shivratri, during which corona guidelines have to be followed.
