Dehradun: Heavy rain has continued in Uttarakhand since late Thursday night. The day began with rain in Dehradun and Haldwani on Saturday. According to the MET department, heavy rainfall is expected in districts like Nainital, Champawat, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh in the next 24 hours. An orange alert has also been issued by the MET department for these districts. According to the information, more than 200 roads are closed due to rain and landslides.

Light to moderate rain has been predicted at some places in Haridwar, Dehradun, and Pauri. Meteorologists have predicted rain as well as lightning in some parts of the state. Dehradun is likely to receive moderate to heavy rain in the next 24 hours. In Uttarakhand, the road leading to Purnagiri Devi Temple has been damaged due to landslides following continuous rains in Champawat.

A woman went missing yesterday after being buried under the debris of a landslide due to incessant rains in Uttarakhand, while a bridge on the Dehradun-Rishikesh road was damaged and traffic was affected due to debris and broken bridges on several routes, including national highways. Normal life has come to a standstill.
