Dehradun: More than 5000 water sources will now be revived under MGNREGA in the state. The revived water sources will also be cared for for at least two years. The proposal has been prepared. Every household tap scheme has also been launched in the state. The trouble is that water sources are drying up or water is decreasing because of climate change. There is also a threat to drinking water strategies.

Under MGNREGA, water augmentation is done anyway, but it is not taken care of. Now, under MGNREGA, the task of reviving the speed-skins, naule, stripe, etc. will be done. Five thousand such water sources have also been identified under MGNREGA. Mgnrega will be paid for construction, labour etc. A detailed guideline may also be issued at the government level in a few days. According to Mohammed Aslam, the nodal officer of MGNREGA, the SOP has been prepared and sent to the government.

The specific point of the same strategy is that it will have a local level committee for every strategy. The committee will outline the revival of the source, and will take care of the source continuously for at least two years. The source will be monitored every three months, and it will be seen that the water flow is increasing or decreasing. The trick for rejuvenation of water source will be from skins to planting. At the same time, preparations will be made in full, and will be properly monitored.
